An Acrostic Poem On Forgiveness

prepare 7L & Esoteric - 1212 (Review + Download Disc)

Boston has always been at the forefront of the underground. From landmarks like Edo G and the late Guru (GangStarr) to contemporary names such as Statik Selektah and Slaine, this town has been a cradle for the birth of the great exponents, fruits are many, and one of them is one of the most potent U.S. underground, I mean 7L and Esoteric. Since its debut in 1999 with the EP "Speaking Real Words" the group has left ringing in the ears with its combination of strong rhythms and super-lyrical rhymes. Now, after four years solo projects, 7L and Esoteric meet again to present a diverse work keeping the sound tight and very good rap lyrics, all results in 1212.

"When I started, many said that was crazy, listening to the beat of the rhythm, I realized that Hip Hop is like a very large building, where many have come to the summit, but the fall time and no one knows more about them, however the building is still standing, all of you recognize the real. " This event starts the album, giving way to "retrospects" which gives a history of the group and express their contribution to the evolution of HipHop, 7L with excellent pace, which has a heavy guitar riff. This topic is actually on the album, Esoteric often gives comments on the state of Hip Hop and how the stars of today Rap is not a nostalgia for the past years.

Within the album are notable lyrical moments, such as "The Handle" in the company of one who knows how to rhyme and tell stories in a fun and dynamic, Sadat X (Brand Nubian), combined with Esoteric to remind basketball players who have made history within the circuit. "12th Chamber" is another theme to highlight a high-level production, joins with one of the Wu-Tang, who demonstrates Inspectah Deck that continues to create without being stagnant for the time. Likewise, "I Hate Flying" is the best song on the album, in the Esoteric makes manifest all his talent and his great skill, showing that in all this time has greatly improved the ability to deliver precise and well structured lyrical, da listening pleasure. The album features

dyes follow the same line, in both solo pieces 7L-ES, as in the existing collaborations, which are certainly a high level, without overpowering the disc, they complement the aesthetics of 1212, the album is close co-workers recruited: Ill Bill, Vinnie Paz & Reef The Lost Cauze on "Bare Knuckle Boxing." Another collaboration is Celph Titled "Run This", under a heavy funk beat low running its staging. There are also collaborations across the coast and they are Evidence and producer Alchemist in one of the few issues on which it is produced by 7L, leaving control to the recognized operator of Los Angeles, where it fits extremely well with the concept 7L plasma that disk.

"1212" became one of the favorite works in terms of production 7L, while a large 180-degree turn of her work in "A New Dope" 7L production on this album is much more Boom- Bap, also shows his skill at giving Scratch turntables in all subjects.

is an album that takes the listener through a journey, so to speak, instead of being comprised of a bunch of individual tracks thrown together on one disc, "1212" flows very well from start to finish, and it seems well thought out, structured especially for the listener.
The format and structure of 7L & Esoteric on "1212" shows a more cerebral approach to the construction of this album.

After an absence of six years which left many questioning the future of the duo, 7L and Esoteric not disappoint in "1212." Hopefully not having to wait another half decade for a new version of two of the best in Beantown.
